My name is Nanci Chavarria (she/her), and I am a second-year Master in Public Health graduate student at the University of San Francisco. I completed my undergraduate at UC Davis, where I was involved with a student-run clinic called Clinica Tepati that provided healthcare to underserved populations in the Sacramento area. Throughout my volunteering, I grew passionate about medicine, patient advocacy, and reducing health disparities, specifically in chronic diseases. I joined the HEAL Lab to learn more about research centered on health equity in underserved communities. My career goals include attending medical school and working with marginalized populations after completing my Master's.
