Bio

Paige is an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator and has been working on a variety of research teams since their first quarter as a UC Davis undergrad in 2012. Paige has evolved throughout her time working in research. Starting as a Student Lab Assistant, she helped track hummingbirds and process samples for epidemiological studies in the School of Veterinary Medicine Department of Medicine & Epidemiology under Dr. Lisa Tell.

After graduating from UC Davis in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Paige found themself interested in research involving the human experience. She moved on to work for Dr. Rebecca Schmidt and Dr. Irva Hertz-Picciotto in the School of Medicine Department of Public Health Sciences in their biorepository lab aliquoting and banking human biological samples for research studies focused on autism, wildfires in California, and pregnancy. Paige gained essential skills working in the biorepository lab, but still wanted more for themself. She wanted the majority of her time to be focused on working with research participants and families, not only the biological samples.

Paige met Dr. Leigh Ann Simmons and Dr. Jen Phipps in summer of 2020 and became extremely interested in their research right away. Since September 2020, Paige has been thoroughly enjoying her position in the HEAL Lab working on the GROWell Study and ACEs Aware, and can’t wait for more. They share similar passions and values of the HEAL Lab’s overall purpose and goal of promoting health equity across the lifespan.
